Since becoming famous on The Bachelor, Wood has built a fortune estimated to be close to $10 million, much of it from a series of astute real estate investments in central Melbourne and the Victoria region.

The businessman, who drives a $150,000 Mercedes G-Wagon, has built a property portfolio that includes his $4 million home in Elsternwick and a $3.6 million vacation home on Mt Martha.

More intensive activity is not always better for a person's memory

The solid-brick Victorian residence in the desirable suburb of Elsternwick was purchased in September 2018 for $3.3 million and has nine bedrooms in total, including four double bedrooms and “a spacious living room with alfresco dining.”

An hour away on picturesque Mount Martha, the Wood family has invested in a perfect vacation getaway on 25,000 square feet of land.

Wood bought the property in October 2020 for $2.7 million and it has already increased in value to a staggering $3.6 million, a profit of almost a million dollars in just 15 months.

The Bay Road property is just a few minutes’ walk from Mt Martha Village Shops and the South Beach Yacht Club, making it a prized addition to any property portfolio.

Modern: It has a whopping nine rooms in total, including four double rooms and “a spacious living room with alfresco dining”.

The four-bedroom home is an artist’s dream featuring a large family room, spacious living and dining room with gas fireplace, and well-appointed kitchen.

Wood made his entry into the real estate market in 2014 when he bought a 1,728-square-meter, two-bedroom unit on Carnegie’s Koornang Road for $477,500.

That property has now increased in value to close to $600,000.

And he’s had the Midas touch ever since. In 2017, Wood bought a three-bedroom investment property in Broadford for $295,000 and has since seen its value rise to nearly $500,000.

In 2018, when Wood acquired the Elsternwick property, he also invested $531,000 in another investment property in Upwey.

This, like all of his other properties, has continued to rise in value, making Wood the undisputed financial king of the Bachelor franchise.
