Keep these things in mind while cooking in an earthen pot
1. Before using an earthen pot, soak it in water for a few hours. This is because earthen pots are porous. Keeping them soaked in water will keep them moist. For cooking, take the utensil out of the water and wipe it with a clean cloth. Then fill it with water and put it on the gas on low flame. After this, after heating for 2 minutes, throw away the water. Now you can use earthen utensils for cooking.
2. Nowadays food is cooked on high flame in steel and aluminum utensils used at home. While you do not have to do this at all while cooking in earthen utensils. Food should always be cooked in an earthen pot on low or medium heat. Cooking food on low flame will make the food tasty as well as cooked well.
3. You have to keep one more thing in mind while cooking in an earthen pot. Use a wooden or silicone ladle to stir food cooked in an earthen pot. Because the metal ladle can damage the utensil.
4. Gently clean the earthen pot with the help of soap and soft scrubber. Be careful while washing it. Because they can break if washed incorrectly or rubbed excessively. Earthen utensils should be rubbed with light hands.
