If you exercise because you are trying to lose fat and sculpt a perfect physique, you need to understand that exercise is only half of the equation. If you really want to take your health, fitness and body shape to a different level then you have to pay attention to your diet.
Dietary needs may vary depending on the level of fitness activity. The diet of a professional bodybuilder will be different than that of a fitness marathon runner. You don’t need to be a food Nazi and control everything you eat, but if you can stick to a few rules, most of the time, your health will benefit greatly. For one, drink enough water.
Hardly anyone actually drinks enough water. Some high-quality fitness drinks (not Gatorade and Powerade) are fine when you’re exercising, but stick to water the rest of the time. Stay away from all the energy drinks and other manufactured crap your body doesn’t really need.
Second, try to eat more and more organic food. Regular food (what’s in the grocery store aisles) is full of chemicals and preservatives that do nothing but cause illness, make you fat and make you feel lethargic. No matter how much you exercise, if you eat junk food, you will not be able to achieve a good body.
Probably the single most important factor in achieving and maintaining the level of health and physique you desire is reducing the amount of bread you eat. A lot of people who exercise eat a lot of bread because they think they need carbs for energy, or because it just tastes great.
Bread is simply not good for you. Why? Bread is full of refined sugar and bleached flour and preservatives. That’s why try to eat less bread. I guarantee you will notice a difference in your body in just a few weeks.
Try eating more organic fruits, vegetables and oats to get the carbohydrates you need. These are great sources of natural carbohydrates that will give your body the proper nutrition it needs.
Besides water, the second most abundant substance in your body is protein. That’s why you want to make sure you’re getting high-quality protein in your diet. You can do this either by eating organic meat, fish, poultry and dairy products, or by taking a high-quality protein supplement.
Eating some meat and taking a protein supplement is often the best way to get a reasonable amount of protein. Consuming too much protein from meat can lead to some health complications.
Getting the body and health you’ve always wanted isn’t that difficult once you exercise regularly. All it takes is a little will power and inspiration.
