Delhi AIIMS is working on AI technology for early detection of breast cancer. Due to which tests like mammography are carried out easily. The help of Asha workers will be sought for breast cancer detection. These agents take care of vaccination work in villages and towns. She will travel to these areas and talk to women about breast cancer and its symptoms. After this, they will collect data from these women and provide information to AIIMS. Based on this, breast cancer will be detected using AI.
How will AI work in breast cancer detection?
Dr Kritika, associate professor of the department of radiology at AIIMS Delhi, said AI would help in two ways in examining the data coming from Asha workers. First, based on all the data and symptoms, it will be identified which women need a mammogram and which do not. Second, by taking a mammogram using AI, even the smallest symptoms of cancer can be identified.
How effective is Delhi AIIMS’ new technology?
This AI model will analyze the 5-year database of Delhi AIIMS, NCI Jhajjar and PGI Chandigarh to identify breast cancer in women, so that it can be treated on time. Work is currently underway. If they succeed, the country will benefit on a large scale and help prevent breast cancer.
