49 drugs, including Calcium-Vitamin D3, failed the quality test, Paracetamol also in the CDSCO list

The Central Drug Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) has released the September report regarding the quality of medicines. This includes cough syrups, multivitamins, and anti-allergy medications including calcium and vitamin D3 that have failed quality testing. It should be noted that these also include medications that doctors usually administer to patients. At the same time, paracetamol failed the quality test for the second month in a row.

Samples of these drugs failed

The CDSCO list includes medicines like Omarin D Capsule, Nimesulide + Paracetamol, Calcium 500, Vitamin D3, Pantoprazole, Paracetamol Pediatric Oral Suspension, Aceclofenac, Cetirizine Syrup, etc. People generally use these medications for stomach, fever, cough, and pain. A total of 49 drugs on this list failed quality control. The Central Drug Standards Maintenance Organization collects samples of drugs from the market every month and tests them on different parameters.

What does medication failure mean?

DCGI Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi said if a drug fails in the testing parameters, it is not considered to be of standard quality. It turns out that the medicine in the batch from the company that manufactured this medicine does not comply with the standard. Samples of drugs that failed the quality test were available in the market. Their samples were taken from the market and tested. He said notices are issued to manufacturers of drugs which are not of standard quality.

Fake medicines in the name of big companies have also been discovered

The CDSCO report also includes four such drugs, which were manufactured by another company in the name of a large company and released to the market. These medications include dutasteride/tamsulosin, calcium 500, vitamin D3, pantoprazole, and nandrolone. Let us tell you that the Central Drug Standards Control Organization tests samples of different drugs from the market every month, after which the quality test report is released every month.

So many drugs failed last month

In the August report, 53 drugs, including paracetamol, had failed the quality test. Let us tell you that due to lack of standard quality medicines, many people use wrong medicines. Dr Swati Maheshwari believes that strict action should be taken against companies manufacturing such medicines. Indeed, the continued consumption of poor quality medicines has harmful effects on health. This can increase patient problems.
