Central Government’s Big Initiative on Doctors’ Safety, Security to Increase in Hospitals


Continuous discussions are underway between the delegation of doctors and the ministry regarding the strike of resident doctors across the country. Today also, in this regard, a delegation of doctors met with senior officials of the Ministry of Health. During which many important issues were discussed.

According to ministry sources, the central government has taken major steps for the safety of resident doctors. The central government has issued new orders to increase the number of security guards in hospitals by 25 per cent and increase the number of commissioners. Apart from this, an order regarding the institution also came from the ministry a few days ago.

What else was discussed at the meeting?

This It was also stressed that if the resident doctors agree to form a committee, then important decisions and suggestions regarding the safety of the doctors and the hospital can be discussed in this committee. For example, a duty room will be arranged, CCTV will be installed and proper lighting arrangements will be made. Representatives from the states and representatives from NMC will also be included in the committee to be formed.

There are already laws in the states

There are already laws in 26 states of the country to protect healthcare workers. In which there is a provision of punishment ranging from 3 years to 10 years. However, sources in the health ministry say that the central government has made it clear that the demands of the resident doctors are not justified. The demand for CPA order made by the doctors is of no use. The incident is condemnable. But in cases of rape and murder, action is taken only as per the law.

It has been over a week since resident doctors across the country have been on strike. This protest in Delhi seems to be growing bigger by the day. Even today, doctors are surrounding the Health Department. Due to this strike, patients are facing many problems. Many patients are returning without treatment.
