To control the growing crowd of visitors, AIIMS Delhi has launched a new visitor management system, facial recognition. In fact, a pilot project has been launched at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. At present, this system has been launched in the mother-child block. The aim is to respond to the increased emphasis on security and visiting hours. With this, it is expected that there will be a ban on unnecessary visitors in important places like the operating room and intensive care.
The AIIMS management gave this information
Dr. (Professor) M. Srinivas, Director, AIIMS New Delhi said that the integration of facial recognition system and visitor management system will increase the safety of our patients and staff. Our goal is to promote safety through technology. This will have no impact on the quality of treatment provided to patients.
Security will increase
Dr (Professor) Rima Dada, Head of Media Cell, AIIMS, said that this pilot project is an example of our progressive approach, which will take health safety to new standards. Previously, his absence was felt. We improve visitor management using cutting-edge technology.
Particularities of the pilot project
Automatic entry control: Clamshell barriers controlled by facial recognition will be used, which will strictly prevent the entry of unnecessary people into restricted areas.
Patient Registration: This system will be applicable for visitors. In this, visitors will have to register in the facial recognition system. However, there will be a total exemption for all patients, emergencies or serious cases.
Digital visitor management: Visitors coming to the hospital will be able to authenticate their identity using a facial recognition system. Apart from this, the hospital will also have an app through which they can register.
Visitors will receive the code: Visitors coming to the hospital will be required to present a government-issued ID card. After that, they will be able to register using the facial recognition system, from which they will obtain the code. This will help them get in.
