Everyone was surprised and shocked after seeing these twins being born for the first time at Nokha Town Hospital in Bikaner. The children’s skin was so hard it felt like plastic. Cracks were visible in many places on the hard skin.
Children are said to suffer from a rare condition Harlequin-type ichthyosis which occurs in one in a million children. In this disease, the child’s skin becomes very hard and in the future it even becomes difficult for him to get up and sit down. . The chances of survival of these children are very low.

Doctors said that Harlequin type ichthyosis is caused by a defect in the parents’ genes and due to this, the child’s skin becomes hard. These children have underdeveloped eyes and also have skin in place of eyes.
When the child begins to grow, due to the growth of the body, the hard skin begins to crack and pain begins. This effect of infection of the parents’ chromosomes on the child cannot be cured by treatment. However, thanks to a new treatment, ten percent of children are able to fight this disease to some extent. But they also have to face skin-related problems throughout their life.
