The government has said that using these drugs can be dangerous. They will therefore be banned throughout the country.

Medicines stopped in 2024

1. Medications for pain and fever

Medicines combining paracetamol and mefenic acid were stopped. These include medications used for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and menstrual pain.

2. Urinary Infection Medications

The combination of ofloxacin and Flavojet is used to kill bacteria found in urinary tract infections. From now on, these drugs will no longer be available on the market.

3. Medications for female infertility

A drug is made from clomiphene and acetylcysteine, sold under many names on the market. This medicine was used for infertility in women.

4. Brain-enhancing drugs

Many drug combinations that sharpen the brain have been banned. These include the combination of Ginkgo Biloba, Piracetam and Vinpocetine. Apart from this, the drug combination Nicergoline and Vinpocetine was discontinued.

5. Eye medicine

Combinations of many medications have been banned for many illnesses such as eye infections. These include combined drugs naphazoline + chlorpheniramine maleate, phenylephrine + hydroxypropylmethylcellulose + boric acid + menthol + camphor. Chlorpheniramine maleate + sodium chloride + boric acid + tetrahydrozoline has also been banned.

6. Medicines for stomach upset, acidity and vomiting

Many medications for stomach aches, acidity and vomiting have also been banned. These include medicines made by mixing sucralfate and domperidone, medicines made by mixing domperidone and sucralfate, sucralfate, pantoprazole, zinc magnesium carbonate.

7. Diabetes Medications

The combination of metformin + ursodeoxycholic acid has been prohibited in diabetic patients suffering from fatty liver. This medicine is no longer available.

8. Medicines for Acne and Pimples

Drugs combined with azithromycin and adapalene were banned. These also include clindamycin + zinc acetate, which are considered quite harmful.

9. Anti-itch medicine

Anti-itch medications combining fluocinolone acetonide + gentamicin + miconazole, clotrimazole + miconazole + tinidazole combination have been banned.

10. Hair Loss Medications

There are many types of medications available on the market for hair loss, many of which are now banned. The minoxidil + aminexil combination or the minoxidil + azelaic acid + tretinoin combination is no longer available.

11. Medicines to increase sexual ability

The combination Sildenafil Citrate + Papaverine + L-Arginine is now completely banned. It was used to treat erectile dysfunction or to increase sexual potency.

12. Soap and aftershave lotion

Such soaps, made by mixing aloe vera and vitamin E, can no longer be used. Apart from this, the healing drug combination metronidazole + povidone iodine + aloe vera has also been stopped. Aftershaves made from menthol and aloe vera have also been banned.
