High blood pressure warning: The pickled vegetable to ‘cut down’ on – boosts your risk

In case you didn’t know, the NHS explains that you shouldn’t consume more than six grams of salt a day, which is 2.4 grams of sodium.

While a serving of pickles won’t cause a problem, eating too much or adding these pickled vegetables to a diet that’s already high in salt might.

TO study published in the journal Clinical Nutrition Research even suggested that “there may be a significant association” between pickle consumption and higher blood pressure.

This is because salt is the “single biggest cause” of high blood pressure, as it causes the body to retain water, explains Blood Pressure UK.
