Kate Middleton makes empowering comment about mental health – read message

On Wednesday, the Duchess of Cambridge Y princess anne joined together to visit the new headquarters of the Royal College for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, marking their first public engagement together.

The visit to the London venue was for the royals to learn how organizations are working together to improve maternal health care and the occasion marked a rare occurrence in which the Duchess spoke about mental health.

After the visit, a heartfelt message appeared in the Duchess and of prince william Twitter, reading: “It is vital that women feel heard and supported at such an important time in their lives.”

The message explained: “This new building illustrates the importance of industry collaboration in finding solutions to improve maternal health care. We heard about the ways in which the @MidwivesRCM and the @RCObsGyn working together to address inequities in maternity care and ensure that all women can get the best possible care.”

The Duchess’s supporters were quick to praise both her and Princess Anne, writing: “Wonderful engagement, it’s so lovely to see Princess Anne and Catherine together, I hope we see more engagements with them together in the future.” while another wrote: “I love seeing these two strong women together!”

While Prince William has been outspoken about his mental health in the past, Duchess Kate has been less vocal, though mental health is a cause close to her heart, as evidenced by her sponsorship of place2bea children’s mental health charity providing advice and emotional support to children and teachers, since 2013.

Kate is also a patron of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RCOG), while Princess Anne is a patron of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), hence their joint commitment.

Princess Anne and Duchess Kate’s first appearance was well received


Kate became a patron of RCOG in 2018 and has made early childhood development, including during pregnancy, a key focus of her public work.


The Princess and Duchess joined a panel discussion with experts and new moms to hear how inequalities in maternity care are being addressed. They also heard about the pioneering work being done to improve gynecological skills around the world.
