Monkeypox Alert: After the corona infection, monkeypox in India has increased the problems of the health department. The first case of monkeypox in India was reported from Kollam district of South Kerala on 14 July. So far, three cases of monkeypox have been reported from Kerala. At the same time, the first case of monkeypox has also come up in Delhi. More than 16 thousand cases of Pankypox have been registered in 75 countries of the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) on Saturday declared monkeypox a global public health emergency.
WHO said, the outbreak of this disease is spreading rapidly all over the world. We have very little information about the medium through which it is spreading. People have started worrying about monkeypox that it is not as dangerous as Corona. Let us tell you how dangerous monkeypox can prove to be compared to corona infection.
1. Not as contagious as Corona-19
So far four cases of monkeypox have been reported in India, but there is a need to be alert to panic about this disease. According to Dr. MC Mishra, former director of All India Medical Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, there is no need to panic about monkeypox. It is not contagious like Kovid-19 and it does not spread as fast as the corona virus.
2. Very low mortality rate
Monkeypox has spread to 74 countries of the world so far. So far 16 thousand 838 cases have been reported. According to experts, even though the cases of monkeypox are increasing rapidly in the world, the death rate is much lower than that of corona. According to experts, the infected patient becomes healthy in 14-21 days. Due to this the chance of death is also very less. Monkeypox can be effectively prevented through strict monitoring.
3. Virus with double DNA form
According to doctors, monkeypox virus is a virus with double DNA. Two different viruses are found in it. One form of monkeypox is Central African (Congo Basin) and the other is West African. The variant that has affected most of the monkeypox patients in the world is the West African variant. According to experts, the western variant of the Monkeypox is less serious and more impressive than its other variant, the Kongo. So there is no need to worry about it.
4. Treatment possible if symptoms are detected early
There is a possibility of getting this disease only after being in contact for a long time with a patient suffering from monkeypox. In this disease, first there is fever like smallpox and there is a complaint of muscle pain. Therefore, after its symptoms appear immediately, it is possible to treat the patient by starting its treatment on time. This disease can be easily overcome by providing necessary medicines and treatment to the patient.
5. Gay men spread this virus the most
According to experts, the monkeypox virus is most commonly spread among gay men. Gay and bisexual people are at higher risk of getting infected. According to the WHO, most of the countries where monkeypox cases have been reported recently, most of the infection is spread through sexual intercourse. Therefore, one should try to avoid such relationships.
