It’s not uncommon to hear criticism of “gym rats” planet fitness gyms, and much of that criticism has to do with some of the policies the affordable health and wellness chain has put in place at many of its locations. according to a Press releasesome franchises give free pizza, candy, and bagels to guests on specific days, and even have an infamous “garbage alarm” that reportedly sounds every time someone growls during an exercise.
It seems like a very interesting place to exercise. And, according to a viral TikTok from Planet Fitness worker Tez (@visionarytez), it can also be an interesting place to work, especially, as some commenters mentioned, if you’re working there “for a laugh.”
He starts his TikTok with a text overlay that reads, “What’s it been like working at Planet Fitness,” followed by a crying emoji.

The compilation video shows a man on a bathroom floor waving his legs in the air and kicking in a bathroom door. The video then shows the cops inside the gym and then back in the bathroom, with the same man either screaming or spitting into a sink. The video also shows a tub of super lube and, once again, the man convulsing on the bathroom floor. Finally, an employee wearing what appears to be a puffer jacket under his purple Planet Fitness work polo shirt appears at the end of the compilation.
“70% of this happened in two days,” the worker revealed in the caption of the video, which was viewed 590,000 times.
In a follow-up video, he shows other aspects of his work, such as finding a baseball cap coated with a plastic composite (helmet-style) material inside. There is also a gym goer sitting on a bench with his belly exposed and his legs spread. The clip also shows food apparently eaten by some of the workers: a “12-inch” hot dog and fresh microwaved shrimp. The man in the bathroom makes another appearance in this video.
In the video’s caption, the worker called it “the best job I’ve ever had.”
“I recommend 10/10,” he added.

The employee added in the comments section that the job provides “24/7 free laughs” and while many platform users found humor in the clips Tez shared, others weren’t up for it. what to say about the chain. calling it a “bot server” and the “Spirit Airlines of gyms”.
“Judgment-free zone, I guess,” said one, speaking of the gym’s motto.
Others, however, agreed that this looks like a fun place to work.
“I get paid to laugh all shift,” said one.
“Worked with PF for 6 years, must be one of the most fun places to work, something happens every day,” wrote another.
The Daily Dot contacted Tez via a TikTok comment and Planet Fitness via email.
