Donegal foundation launching free online fitness and mental health…

You are signing up now for a FREE fitness and wellness program with the No Barriers Foundation in Letterkenny.

The online course invites people to exercise from home, learn how to be more active in 2022, stay connected with other people, and most importantly, take time out of their day to unplug.

Starting Thursday, January 20 at noon, virtual classes will include a full workout program with experienced trainers, followed by a Tea & Talk session to see how everyone is doing.

This program is open to anyone, anywhere!

All you need to know:

When is the course?
Classes will be held at 12:00 noon every Thursday from January 20, 202

How many weeks does it last?
Twelve weeks in total: You will be able to enjoy eight weeks of exercise classes and four weeks of educational talks.

How much?
This is completely FREE, thanks to the support of the Donegal County Council Development Fund Initiative.

Who is this class for?
People of any fitness level are welcome and there is no age limit.

What kind of exercises am I going to do?
Our trainers will guide you through a fun variety of aerobic, resistance, balance, and flexibility exercises. We will suggest settings for people of various abilities.

Will I need any equipment?
We recommend having resistance bands and dumbbells on hand, but can also suggest household items to use instead.

What is the Tea and Talk session afterwards?
After each class we will host a light chat session to see how everyone is doing. In addition to exercising, we’d like to help people connect as a community.

Who will be training me?
We have an experienced team of physical therapists, an occupational therapist, and fitness instructors who are available to share their advice and answer any questions you may have about your own health. The No Barriers Foundation is an inclusive gym for everyone.

For 12 weeks, you’ll become more active, stay connected to others, and most importantly, take time out of your day to unplug! We understand that there is a lot of negativity and health concern these days, which is why our course seeks to promote good mental health through the benefits of exercise. Through these difficult times, we can all take care of our own physical and mental health and well-being by adding healthy and helpful habits to our daily and weekly routines. The No Barriers team is here to help guide you with information and tips on how to plan things that will help keep you well for months to come.
