Missy Truscott and India Paulino Talk About Championship Mentality on ‘FFF’

Being an athlete requires a certain level of commitment. Being a championship-caliber athlete takes that commitment to a new level. Athletes who want to be among the best have to hold themselves to a standard that most would not. That’s why they are where they are.

Whitney Jones knows this all too well because she is a three-time Fitness Olympia champion. On a recent episode of Femme Flex Friday, she featured two other champions: 2020 Fitness Olympia winner Missy Truscott and former International Bikini Champion India Paulino. Truscott felt that athletes should accept what awaits them rather than avoid it. In other words, new professionals should compete as soon as possible after obtaining the privilege to do so.

“Do that show so you get the experience and know ‘okay, I did this wrong, I need to change this,'” he advised. “You need to know that feeling of being on a professional stage because it’s so different.”

Paulino expressed that she may have taken her mindset to the extreme and had to change her approach before it negatively affected her. She began to prioritize simply doing the best she could with what she could and not letting external factors overwhelm her.

“You work your butt off. You work very hard to get everything 100 percent. The rest is not up to me. I’m not in control of anything else,” Paulino said. She feels that many new professionals make the mistake of

overthinking everything. In his opinion, they should pay more attention to what they can control and less to what they cannot.
