TikTok influencer and musician Nessa Barrett opened up about her mental health when she revealed she returned from the psych ward three weeks ago, calling it “traumatizing” and “hell” due to her long battle with anxiety, depression and borderline personality disorder.
Nessa Barrett, originally from New Jerseyrose to fame by posting lip sync videos on TikTok and later moved to California to pursue a singing career.
The influencer acquired more than 26 million followers in both tik tok Y Instagram and gained wide recognition for her music, but the social media star has decided to stay authentic with her fans as she frequently details her struggles with mental health.
On Wednesday, Nessa revealed that she was sent to a psychiatric ward for the first time as an adult in a brutally candid TikTok video.

On Wednesday, the influencer revealed that she was sent to the psych ward for the first time as an adult in a video she posted to her TikTok.
The influencer has frequently been candid about her struggles with borderline personality disorder, depression, and anxiety.
“Three weeks ago, I just got back from the psych ward, I was admitted to a mental hospital,” she said in her video.
The TikTok star added that only her ‘close friends and family’ knew about it and that she had ‘been in [a mental hospital] before’, but this was ‘different’ because she is no longer a ‘teenager’.
“It was terrible, traumatic and hell for me,” he said.
He then revealed that he spent many ‘sleepless nights’ thinking about what he had to be thankful for before revealing that he also struggled with an eating disorder and was in ‘recovery’.
His video comes after the recent death of his friend and fellow influencer Cooper Noriega, who passed away at the age of 19 and whose cause of death is still unknown.
Nessa also recently suffered an extremely public breakup with ex-boyfriend Jaden Hossler, 21, the two confirmed their breakup in May with Nessa adding that she needed to “focus on [her] mental health.’
The influencer and singer was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, or BPD, when she was 18 years old and later revealed that she suffered from an eating disorder as a result.
In an interview with NylonThe singer revealed that her eating disorder began when she was just 12 years old.
“Sometimes I would hide my dinner or say I was eating it in my room and flush it down the bathroom toilet.
“I would try to see how long I could go without eating anything,” he said.
The video comes just two months after she suffered the death of her friend and fellow influencer Cooper Noriega, (pictured) whose cause of death is still unknown.
Nessa also recently faced a very public breakup with musician Jaden Hossler, noting that they broke up so she could “focus on [her] mental health’
Nessa was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder or BPD when she was 18 years old and later revealed that she suffered from an eating disorder as a result.
The 20-year-old has used her music as a means of connecting with fans in a vulnerable way and detailed her suicide attempt in a song titled 911.
The star also opened up about her suicide attempt in a snippet of an unreleased song titled 911.
The song details her suicide attempt from four years ago and even includes the 911 call her father made when he found her unconscious.
‘[I] I wrote a song the other night about my first suicide attempt. Nessa explained in the title of her video that she shared a glimpse of the song.
‘My dad was the one who found me, so we used his voice on that. This is how I manage,” Nessa explained in the caption of her since-deleted video of her sharing a glimpse of the song.
The song begins with the distressing 911 call her father made at the time.
‘911 What’s your emergency? Hello? Please send someone here right now. I have my daughter, my daughter, I think she took some pills. There’s a bottle here and it’s like, almost empty. Please hurry up. Bring someone now,” reads the chilling audio message.
He then begins to sing, revealing that his ‘demons are [her] just friends.’
The social media star has been known to use her music as a means of connecting with fans in a vulnerable way who are struggling with mental health.
