The relationship between Arnold and Frank Zane goes back a long way. Arnold had seen only a few losses throughout his illustrious career. Whenever he participated in a competition, it was always believed that he would be victorious. However, this was not the case when he competed against Frank Zane in the Mr. Universe competition in 1968.

Frank Zane was in monster shape at the time and won the Mr. Universe title that year, thus defeating Arnold. talking about his Remarkable victory said:I was one of the only guys to beat him in a competition, and that show was mine to win.”
