Howard Lawrence, one half of the electronic duo of brothers Divulgation, has announced that he will not be visiting Australia when the band’s tour begins later this week. The English musician took to social media to reveal that he will instead be taking some time off to take care of himself and focus on mental health.
“I am very sorry to say that I will not be joining Guy on our Australian tour this year,” Lawrence wrote. “As those of you who follow my personal account will already know, I’ve been fighting really hard to get back on tour.”

Disclosure, which includes Howard and his older brother Guy, returned to full-scale touring earlier this year after a few years of waiting due to the COVID pandemic. Earlier this year, it was announced that the duo would be visiting Australia in September and October as part of the Listen/Listen festival billboards.
“This year I’ve done my best to keep going with all of you and I’ve managed to play many, many shows, but sadly now I’ve reached a critical point and I really need to take some time to take care of myself.” Lawrence said. “Guy (absolute soldier) will keep coming back with the rest of our amazing team to bring success to all of you lovely ravers.”
He concluded with an apology: “I’m sorry to disappoint you all and I hope you understand. I promise that I will spend my time writing more songs for all of you to make up for it.”
Lawrence joins a number of artists who, in recent months, have announced that they will prioritize their mental health over touring. the likes of tom misch Y The affliction of friendship have made similar announcements, with the latter also noting the “brutal” schedules and extreme expectations placed on touring artists.
