‘Struggling to walk’: Charles Watts now dismisses Arsenal’s potentially worrying claim after post-match health issue
Charles Watts, a journalist, revealed that Arsenal Defender Oleksandr Zinchenko “wasn’t moving well” after the North London derby.
In their last Premier League game, the Gunners tasted victory thanks to a resounding win over their local rivals.
Indeed, Arsenal defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 thanks to goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka, with Zinchenko playing 73 minutes at left-back.
However, it seemed like he was ‘struggling to walk’ after the match; however, Watts has dispelled any major fitness concerns, stating that it was probably a cramp rather than an injury.
speaking in his Youtube channelthe journalist explained: “We saw Zinchenko walk by, I say walking, he was even struggling to walk, and I’m not saying it was an injury or anything, it could have been that he was actually having cramps.
“Both of my legs were kind of covered in…I don’t even know what they were, they were almost these kinds of leggings, basically, which I’m pretty sure were to keep the muscles protected, to keep them warm or something like that. But she had a hard time walking, she didn’t move well.
“I don’t think he was injured, he didn’t look injured when he came out, because he was substituted in the second half and he came out fine and sat on the bench, but it looked like maybe he had a cramp. shortly after the match.
“I mean, he hadn’t played for a while, so it’s no wonder he was in a bit of trouble after the game.”
Zinchenko missed the club’s previous game, a 3–0 away win against Brentford, due to a calf injury. He too missed two games earlier in the season due to knee problems (via Transfermarkt).
In light of this, it wouldn’t be surprising if Zinchenko experienced a bit of post-match cramping, and it seems this is more likely than something more serious, especially if the derby was a more intense training session.
Arsenal fans will be relieved as the Ukrainian has performed admirably for the Gunners so far.
In fact, the 25-year-old has won five of the six games he has played for his new team in all competitions.
This performance has propelled the North London club to the top of the Premier League table, so they are expected to remain fit and healthy for the foreseeable future.
