Christian Horner has said it is “extremely disappointing” that another team has accused Red Bull of cheating, as it was adamant that there were no performance gains from the car due to its overspending on the budget last season.
This month Red Bull was found guilty of breaching the $145m (£128m) budget cap by the FIA, Formula One’s governing body, and they are in talks over what penalty will be applied, with the expectation that it will consist of a fine and also possibly a reduction in the use of wind tunnels next year.
Speaking publicly for the first time since the FIA published details of the breach nearly two weeks ago, Horner, the Red Bull team principal, was sitting at a news conference alongside Zak Brown, the boss.
