Ministry of Culture collaborates with Art of Living to work towards mental health

New Delhi: The Ministry of Culture announced collaboration with Art of Living to reach out to the masses and youth to educate them on mental health and empower them with meditation for better health.

“The project was launched on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the Art of Living International Headquarters in Bangalore by Ravishankar in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai amidst a gathering of 20,000 people,” the Ministry of Culture said in a press release. release.

The project will involve Art of Living teachers as meditation trainers, and representatives of institutions and interested people from the public as meditation ambassadors, who together will reach the masses, especially the youth.

“This scheme puts into practice the Jan-Bhagidari model to empower youth towards better health and create a more resilient future for the country. The project will be executed in several phases. The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and will culminate on Independence Day 2023,” the ministry added.

The Art of Living Foundation is a humanitarian and educational non-governmental organization (NGO) based on volunteerism. It was founded in 1981 by Ravi Shankar. The Art of Living Foundation has its centers in 180 countries. Art of Living offers various self-development and stress-reduction programs based on breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga.

The stress relief and self-development programs are based on the Sudarshan Kriya breathing technique, meditation and yoga. This technique is an important part of The Art of Living courses.
