“It gave me a lot of insecurities and it was frustrating. You want to go to the gym to look better, but in my mind, I thought I looked worse. I took extreme measures, wearing longer shirts to cover my biceps. I tried every oil and lotion you can make and they never went away. They fade over time.”

2. Self-esteem

“A lot of us went into this to boost our confidence. We want people to look at us and say, ‘wow, they’re bigger, skinnier. That must mean they’re somehow better, right? That is not necessarily the case. Some of the bigger, skinnier guys are also the most insecure because it didn’t really fix that problem. Sometimes, you can be hypercritical of yourself. I would suggest not starting to exercise just to make people look at it better because it will likely never give you the satisfaction you thought it would.”

3. You will be tagged

“Suddenly you’re like an alien species to a lot of people. Macronutrients, protein is a foreign language to many people who think they will never understand. It is very sad because it is very easy to understand. Just because you enjoy improving both physically and mentally doesn’t mean you’re weird. But for a lot of people, even today, you are.”
