The app, which will initially be available in Hindi and English, will include interactive modules and programs for those who want to seek mental health help every day. It will provide daily mental health care and instill resilience among users for better mental health care.
The app will be available in multiple languages at a later stage. Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) Dr Madhuri Kanitkar speaking about the app, he said it will help in routine mental health care, which is otherwise only sought after after complete failure.
doctor kanitkar he said: “The app will be called Manas and it will be released for about 5,000 users on both Android and iPhone. During COVID-19, we saw an increase in the rate of suicides, domestic violence and also an increase in conflicts between parents and children. So we decided to design our own app for Indian users. There were many unselected and unscientific apps on the market, but we don’t know if the apps have scientific backing. We have our team of technical and medical experts who have prepared the content for users.”
