The quiz expert, who goes by the nickname ‘The Beast’, shocked viewers on Wednesday’s episode with his unexpected outburst after losing to the contestants with only seconds left on the clock. when the host bradley walsh he turned to Mark to discuss the loss, simply saying “I’m leaving”, before slamming part of the set in anger and walking away.

Bradley was speechless for a few moments, but joked to the camera, “I apologize to the kids watching, that’s not how you should take defeat.”

However, after the episode aired, Mark took to Twitter to apologize to viewers, admitting that he wasn’t in a good place mentally before the game. He wrote: “Apologies to those of you disappointed with my behavior tonight. My mental health skyrocketed before that game, it was a storm or he burst into tears. TO The ruthless diet of quality opponents didn’t help.”

Mark apologized for his outburst earlier this week.

Fans were quick to comment in support of Mark, with one person writing, “You were fabulous as always, great team. I took it as part of the ‘Beast’ personality, nothing more. Take care.”

Another added: “My daughter and I assumed it was a bit of theatrics so the only disappointment is hearing you were struggling at the time. Everyone can have a bad day and tonight I’m showing my 13 year old son your post. so she knows that sometimes it’s okay to feel frustrated too”.

His fellow Chaser Paul Sinha chimed in: “You should never have to apologize for the crime of ‘being human’. I would have been nowhere on those questions.“, to which Mark replied: “Thanks friend”.

Mark has been a part of ITV’s quiz show since 2009 and last year was recruited for the US version of The chasing in a reported six-figure deal.
