Dr Michael Mosley shares ‘unique’ way to lose fat rapidly – whilst still enjoying ‘treats’

Adopting a Mediterranean diet is a great way to lose weight.

The Fast 800 diet simply calls for dieters to consume only 800 calories per day.

To stay nourished and full, Dr. Michael advocates a high-protein, low-carb diet.

The Fast 800 website stated, “Research shows that a moderately low-carbohydrate, Mediterranean-style diet has the unique power to restore your body’s ability to reach your ideal weight.”

And while it’s a great method for losing weight, it’s just as good for maintaining weight loss and making the number on the scale “stick.”

This is because it is easy to achieve and allows dieters to also enjoy the foods they like, instead of restricting themselves, ultimately resulting in overindulgence.

The Mediterranean diet is not only an easy and affordable way to lose weight, but it has a host of health benefits, one of which is that it “reduces the risk of chronic diseases.”

The Fast 800 website stated, “The low-carb Mediterranean-style diet is low in sugar and starchy carbohydrates and packed with disease-fighting nutrients.

DO NOT MISS IT

In fact, Dr. Michael encourages dieters to incorporate healthy fats into their diets.

When you’re hungry, reach for avocado-based snacks, which keep dieters “satiated,” less likely to reach for junk or processed foods.

A handful of nuts also contains healthy fats, as well as being high in fiber.

Top tip for weight loss: “Almond or coconut flour is a great low-carb alternative to flour for baking. Yes, you can bake healthy treats!”

And speaking of sweets, it’s a myth that weight loss equals misery and deprivation; in fact, The Fast 800 defends them.

The website stated: “Research shows that resveratrol, a compound present in red wine (as well as blueberries, cranberries and cocoa) may contribute to the health benefits of the Mediterranean Diet.

“So if you want to complement your recipes with an occasional glass of red chocolate or a piece of dark chocolate, you can do that.”

For those trying the 5:2 diet, 800 calories, or intermittent fasting, “be extra careful on fasting days, as the calories can be significant.”

Finally, while reaching for fruit is always better for you than a decadent slice of cake, some fruits are more superior than others in the weight loss game.

“Enjoy berries, apples, and pears, which have less sugar than sweet tropical fruits like mango, pineapple, and cantaloupe.”
