Bangalore: MedLern now has added multilingual capabilities in eight Indian regional languages. The move aims to address language barriers often faced by stakeholders healthcare professionals who lack enough English language skills and understanding to enhance the impact of the courses provided on your platform.
The decision to introduce the app interface and courses in regional languages comes as a direct response to the growing demand from healthcare workers and hospitals in Tier II-III cities, as well as surveys showing that health professionals in smaller cities have difficulty understanding English teaching, unlike their counterparts in larger Tier I cities who have good knowledge of the English language.
The project will start with eight significant languages in the pilot phase, all drawn from the four areas of the country. The eight languages include Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, and Bengali.
The courses are mainly intended for general service personnel, such as nursing and medical assistants, who lack adequate knowledge of English. The point is to make sure that staff are well informed about the procedures and can absorb the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in their profession.
MedLern it currently has 150 nursing medical schools and 400 hospitals in its network whose staff from the nursing cadre and below can benefit from the new courses. One good thing about these new courses is the fact that they are cost-effective because we realize that professionals in Tier II and III regions who need these courses have limited financial capacity.”
