Hyderabad: American Institute of Oncology (AOI) Hyderabad announced the launch of Ethos Radiotherapy, a holistic AI-powered solution integrated with Varian’s most advanced surface guidance system, IDENTIFY technology. The occasion was graced by T Harish Rao, Minister of Finance, Health, Medicine and Family Welfare of the Government of Telangana. Present at the occasion were Harish Trivedi, CEO, CTSI – South Asia and Dr. Prabhakar P, Regional COO, AOI.
This new solution uses augmented intelligence, a convergence of people and AI that work together to adjust cancer treatments in response to the unique and changing daily needs of patients. In the treatment room, IDENTIFY helps guide patient setup and positioning through visual assistance. Ethos provides unique treatment personalization capabilities by adapting treatment plans in real time based on patient change. anatomy and tumor location. An extension of precision cancer care technology, IDENTIFY is an intuitive interface that detects real-time changes in tumor position during ongoing treatment. This allows the team to precisely position the radiation beam, allowing it to target only the tumor cells.
Speaking at the launch, Harish Trivedi, CEO, CTSI – South Asia, said: “AI-powered adaptive therapy is the future of personalized radiotherapy. This is a transformative time for cancer care in Telangana.”
Ethos therapy integrated with IDENTIFY, a novel technology and technique, provides the ability to alter the treatment plan by capturing movement in the internal and external anatomy during each treatment. This improves the pre-treatment plan and also adapts to changes in real time during treatment by gaining insight through the advanced power of AI-enhanced image segmentation and surface motion sensors. The Ethos machine is a much safer and more reliable way to treat cancer patients than conventional radiation therapy machines. It is designed to be used in combination with existing treatments, such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy. This allows for a more comprehensive approach to treating cancer, giving patients access to a variety of treatment options. It is capable of attacking cancer cells in almost any area of the body, including the brain, liver, and lungs.
Integrated adaptive therapy with surface-guided motion management helps tailor the treatment plan and target the tumor based on anatomical changes. The Ethos machine is capable of delivering a precise dose of radiation to attack and kill cancer cells while leaving healthy cells intact. The machine’s ability to deliver adaptive sofa-based treatment places the patient at the center of care.
