Civil engineering operator Manoharan, 36, and his wife Sukanya, 32, residents of Tiruvannamalai. These two spouses did something that will surprise you for a moment. The most surprising thing is that she gave birth to the child at home following instructions from a WhatsApp group.

According to reports in TOI, preliminary investigation reveals that Manoharan was part of a WhatsApp group called ‘Home Birth Experience’. People included in this group are very active in obtaining information about labor and related pain. When Sukanya became pregnant with her third child, she decided not to undergo any medical examinations during her pregnancy. So much so that when Sukanya went into labor on November 17, the couple decided to seek instructions and advice from a WhatsApp group instead of going to the hospital. Manoharan would have taken care of the delivery himself.

Who filed a complaint against the couple?
The public health officer of the area filed a complaint against the couple at the Kundrathur police station after the child’s birth. The complaint states that Manoharan’s actions violated prescribed medical safety rules.

After the complaints, the police questioned Manoharan and during the course of investigation, they came to know about his association with the WhatsApp group.
