Professor and head of the department of pharmacology at AIIMS BhopalDr. Balakrishnan S discussed the use of AI in pharmacovigilance in 2024 NAPT conference and explained how AI can improve patient safety accelerating the identification of adverse drug reactions (ADRs), leading to better prescribing practices. The conference, the third annual meeting of the National Association of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (NAPT), took place last week at AIIMS Nagpur. Dr. Balakrishnan led a plenary session focusing on emerging trends in signal detection within pharmacovigilance.
The session explored the latest methodologies in signal detection to identify ADR. This is a crucial aspect of pharmacovigilance. RAM identification ensures patient safety. Dr. Balakrishnan’s presentation highlighted these advances in this field.
