Allow Duchess Kate to Read You a Bedtime Story

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

Duchess Kate kicked off Children’s Mental Health Week in the UK by reading a bedtime story for a popular TV show.

The Duchess of Cambridge recently sat down to read Jill Tomlinson’s children’s classic, The owl that was afraid of the dark, which aligns with this year’s theme of Growing Together.

Dressed in a cozy cream color Holland Cooper Fair Isle knitted sweater and blue jeans, Kate chose to read the book as it has been a favorite of her own children, Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte. The owl that was afraid of the dark tells the story of Plop, a baby barn owl who is helped by others to overcome his fears and grow in confidence.

Children’s Mental Health Week was first launched in 2015 by children’s mental health charity Place2Be, of which the Duchess is a royal patron, and this year encourages children and their parents or carers to consider how they have grown and how they can help others to grow up.

Patricia Hidalgo, director of BBC Children’s and Education, tells BAZAAR.COM in a statement, “I couldn’t be more proud that the Duchess was reading a CBeebies bedtime story as we commemorate the 20th anniversary of our CBeebies and CBBC channels. It is such a special and relevant story and perfectly represents the theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week. I can’t wait to see her deliver her own take on such a classic story and I’m sure our audience can’t either.”

Kate is one of the many celebrities who have participated in the CBeebies network. bedtime stories series, with Reese Witherspoon last week making an appearance on the popular children’s reading show Extraordinary! by Penny Harrison, celebrating the special moments we share with friends and family.

Philly-area gyms are still building back from COVID closures. They’re dealing with lower enrollment, rising labor costs, and supply chain issues.

Last year, Tom Hiddleston chose to read from an illustrated book super tattoo, Ryan Reynolds brought a copy of Where the monsters live, and Chris Evans selected Good night, good night Construction site. Tom Hardy has made multiple appearances over the years, much to the delight of moms across the country.

Bedtime Stories with the Duchess of Cambridge will air on Sunday, February 13 at 6:50pm (GMT) on the CBeebies network.
