New Delhi: Apple He is reportedly working on a new health and wellness feature: a AI Health Coach – which could arrive next year. Not to mention health coaching, Apple is also working on tracking emotions and plans to bring the health app to ipads.
He AI health coaching, codenamed Quartz, will use AI and data from apple watch to motivate users to exercise, help them sleep better and improve their eating habits, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports, citing people familiar with the project. Users will receive personalized workout suggestions and programs, the sources said. Quartz will be an independent application, different from the existing ones health app.
People from various groups at Apple, including health, siri, and AI, and even people from the service department are said to be working on the feature. Sources say that the AI health training is scheduled to arrive next year, but there it could be postponed or canceled eventually.
Apple’s Quartz initiative has similarities to LumiHealth, a program launched by Apple in partnership with the Singapore government in 2020. However, while LumiHealth rewarded users for maintaining good health, Apple’s new internal service will require a monthly fee. like many of their other digital offerings.
Apple plans to introduce a new version of its Health app designed specifically for iPad, which will allow users to view their EKG results and other health data in a more capacious format. The Health app for iPadOS 17 is scheduled to arrive later this year.
The Health app for iPhone (hopefully iPad too) will get tools to track emotions later this year. The first version of the emotion tracker will allow users to record their mood, answer questions about their day, and compare results over time.
However, in the future, this could be improved to analyze a user’s speech, written words, and other data on their devices to automatically determine their mood using the iPhone. Apple will also reportedly add a tool to monitor vision conditions, such as myopia, to the Health app.
According to sources, Apple’s upcoming journal app will be distinct from its mood and emotion tracking features and is not intended to position itself as a health feature. Instead, the app will be an extension of Apple’s Find My service and other location features, with a focus on adding social media elements. Users can write journal entries about their activities, such as their daily walks to work, within the app.
Apple is also working to bring noninvasive blood pressure and glucose monitoring to apple watch in the next years. While the AI health coaching service is planned for next year, the new iPad app and tools for managing emotions and vision could get a mention at this year’s annual developer conference in June.
