bodybuilding veteran chris cormier led a successful career that spanned more than two decades beginning in the 1980s. In a recent video, Cormier reflected on shooting Synthol in his calves and gave his thoughts on competitors using the compound today.
Site Enhancement Oils they have been used to modify an athlete’s physique for many years. While some have used the compound and gone unnoticed, others have ranked poorly or lost contests as a result of egregious use. Judges are trained to specifically look for imbalances in a bodybuilder’s physique.
One of the latest cases involving oils for site improvement occurred in June at the 2022 Musclecontest Brazil Pro. At the end of the contest, 212 competitor Thiago Santisteban placed eighth. Many believe that he finished last after the judges flagged him for imbalances, which were suspected to be caused by his use of Synthol.
Popular bodybuilder and trainer Milos Sarcev is familiar with Synthol. He used it on his biceps and to this day remembers it as the biggest regret of his career And it seems that he is not the only elite bodybuilder who has dabbled with these compounds. In his latest admission, Bodybuilding Hall of Famer Chris Cormier gave his thoughts on the use of Synthol and warned future talent not to use it.
Chris Cormier Warns Synthol Users: ‘You’re Destroying Muscle’
In the last episode of primetime muscleCormier warns bodybuilders about Synthol, suggesting it blurs the physique and destroys muscle tissue.
“In my opinion, it’s probably not even necessarily Synthol, but definitely [they] they are doing a lot of injections at the site that are unnecessary. Some of the stuff is just unnecessary – it looks so weird and it’s not even humanly possible for a muscle to grow like that. Some muscles are normally flat, if you look at the anatomy, but actually now it’s like 3D or something. Some of that is just unnecessary. said Chris Cormier.
Cormier doesn’t think site-enhancing oils can be eliminated from sport entirely, but he said athletes should take more pride in building muscle in the gym rather than artificially creating the look.
“I think it really blurs the physique and I think you can look a lot better… you know, I’m not going to say it’s something that can be completely removed, but calm down and be a little proud of yourself. you’re going to gain some muscle in the gym, not in the bathroom.”
He warned that injecting Synthol into calves will cause the muscle to “disintegrate” over time and athletes won’t know the true extent of the damage until years later.
“Yes. You’re destroying the muscle. One of the muscles that a lot of people like to do is the calves. The calves is one of the worst places you can do it because it will slowly damage that muscle. That muscle is going to disintegrate, and actually It won’t be anything in a year or two, or something. So if your calves are really high, you just have high calves. Just drop it. Just train it.”
Cormier on ‘real harm’ from Synthol use on calves: ‘You’re not going to get circulation’
Cormier understands the damage Synthol can cause after using it on his calves throughout his bodybuilding career.
“Yes, I actually used it on my calves before, so I know the damage is real. And not only that: when you get older, you need circulation. Guess what you’re doing to the muscle, you’re damaging all the nerves, you’re going to have no circulation, your nervous system is going to be paralyzed. When you get older, you need that circulation.”
According to the bodybuilding veteran, athletes hurt their backs by routinely injecting site-enhancing oils into the trapezius muscle.
“You see a lot of competitors today, with a lot of back damage because they’re actually holding [injecting] through the middle of the trapezoid [muscle]. You see the swelling; you see the swollen trapezius, then you see the neck is very small and flat,” says Cormier.
Cormier recently spoke with Big Ramy and his trainer Dennis James about his preparations for Mr. Olympia 2022. Dennis James pointed out that the champion is struggling to “activate” your trapezius muscle in your back. He expressed that it was one of his main concerns for this year’s season.
While there is no concrete evidence that Big Ramy used Synthol, fans were quick to point fingers at the reigning champion after a dubious physical update. Specifically, many pointed out Ramy’s pointy delts/shoulders. However, Ramy dispelled those rumors a week later with another to updatewhere her shoulders looked much flatter and less swollen.
Given Cormier’s experience using oils to improve the site, he goes on to warn others against the practice. In a nutshell, Cormier doesn’t think substances like Synthol are worth considering the health risks associated with their use over time.
