October 10 is World Mental Health Day.
On this year’s World Mental Health Day, Swiatek announced a donation to a mental health organization. “Today is World Mental Health Day and so I would like to take some action to help. I am going to continue my little tradition and donate the prize money from the tournament in Ostrava.
€58,000 will support a charity that helps children struggling with mental health issues in Poland. I say this openly because I know that every gesture and every donation counts when we talk about something as important as our mental health.
Especially since this year’s motto for this day is to make our mental health the priority. I encourage everyone to donate even small amounts to one of the charities because together we can make a bigger impact,” Swiatek wrote on Instagram.
Swiatek, who is now the face of women’s tennis, has been working with sports psychologist Daria Abramowicz for quite some time.
Abramowicz is often credited with helping Swiatek become a mentally strong player. Swiatek has also spoken on several occasions about the importance of having someone like Abramowicz who can provide assistance on a daily basis. Swiatek is always ready to support a good cause, as last summer she organized a charity event for Ukraine in Krakow.
