Centre informs SC about introduction of portal to provide mental health facilities upto district level – ET HealthWorld


New Delhi: center reported to Supreme Court That it has invited tenders for setting up a portal to provide real-time information Mental health facilities up to the district level.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud asked the Center to file an affidavit regarding the implementation of the portal.

During the hearing, Additional Solicitor General Madhavi Diwan informed the court about a dashboard that they are planning to put up on the portal to provide relevant real-time information. mental health facilities

The lawyer also told the court that all the state governments are called for a demonstration within 15 days and the portal will be functional within a month.

The court was hearing a petition relating to the rehabilitation of mentally ill persons in hospitals or mental asylums. The petition has been filed by advocate Gaurav Kumar Bansal.

The Supreme Court had earlier directed the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to prepare a model format of its online dashboard and circulate it to all states/UTs.
