CM Punk’s wrestling days for AEW may be over, but the former world champion has given a positive update on his broken foot injury.
Just days after his first AEW World Championship win, Punk injured his foot on the June 1 episode of AEW Dynamite by diving through the crowd and hitting his foot on the railing.
Taking to Instagram, Punk shared a recap of his recent workout, saying it’s his first time doing ‘road work’ since breaking his foot. He wrote,
“First time working on the road since I broke my foot. For anyone going through this: the light at the end of the tunnel is you.”
Punk returned and regained the AEW World Championship at All Out 2022, but was stripped of the title due to the backstage brawl after the show.
It is believed that AEW will buy out Punk’s contract and release the former world champion.
