Teams providing mental health support to people in Lincolnshire have been shortlisted in the BBC Make a Difference Awards 2022.
Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) have been selected by the judges for their new ways of working with young people, including creating a podcast covering a range of emotional well-being topics as well as your continued support of children, youth and their families.
Hayley Slater, Acting Service Manager for CYP’s Emotional Wellbeing Service, said: “It’s absolutely brilliant that teams have been nominated for this award and that their hard work, dedication and creativity have been recognised.
“This nomination is a testament to how well our MHST staff work collaboratively with educational settings, children and youth, and their families, to ensure they are supported with their mental health and emotional wellness needs.”
The teams provide workshops, training and one-on-one support, working with teachers and university staff to help children and youth get the right support and stay in education.
A parent whose son agreed to support from MHST added, “MHST has been very supportive from start to finish. I wouldn’t be where I am now or have the relationship with my son if it wasn’t for the team’s involvement.
“My son participated in the sessions and the impact on family life was incredible. He was a lifesaver for our family.”
