“In the Delta infection study, where we compared the protective response between the two- and three-dose method, we can observe the benefits of booster dose vaccination in protection. Although neutral antibody levels were comparable between groups, there was a significant reduction in lung disease severity after three-dose vaccinations, “the study said.
A study by the Indian Council of Medical Research and Bharat Biotech found that “two-dose and three-dose immunized animals have shown significant reduction in virus shedding and viral organ load, demonstrating the effectiveness of the vaccine against the Delta variant.”
The second study, which evaluated the protective response against Omicron variants iE BA.1 and BA.2, found that following three-dose vaccinations, fewer viruses were exposed, the viral load on the lungs, and the severity of lung disease compared to the vaccination groups. Placebo groups.
“Evidence from the present study shows that covacin booster immunization enhances the protective immune response and reduces the severity of disease against delta and omikron variant infections,” he added.
