Corona Virus News Update: On one hand, the fourth wave of Corona has knocked and people are once again being advised to follow cleanliness, medicine and strictness. On the other hand, a research has come to the fore, whose claims can give some relief to the Indians suffering from the terror of mosquitoes. Subhajit Biswas, a scientist at the Kolkata-based Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (CSIR-IICB), claims that the risk of spreading the infection of Kovid-19 (Dengue Covid Conundrum) is less in areas where there is a high incidence of dengue.
What is this relation between dengue and corona called!
According to the news published in the Times of India, in July 2020, Biswas conducted the first lab study, in which it was confirmed that dengue and corona are indirectly related to each other. Biswas has called it the “Dengue-Covid conundrum”. It became clear in the research that there is an antigenic relationship between the two diseases. This claim of Biswas has also been published in the policy report of the Ministry of Health.
Worldwide research confirms India’s claim
In the year 2021 and early 2022, China, Sri Lanka and Indonesia also confirmed Biswas’ claim. He recognized that people who have had dengue are less at risk of Kovid and those infected by Kovid-19 are less likely to get dengue. Research by Miguel Nicolelis of Duke University and Professor Sylvester of Brazil on 2000 Kovid patients also found that those who had never had dengue before were at higher risk of death from Kovid-19. Scientists from Israel have also found 22 percent serological cross-reactivity between Kovid-19 and dengue virus.
After confirming the research, Biswas will proceed in this direction to conduct detailed serological tests so that the diagnosis of both the viruses can be done differently in future.
