Dallas Cowboys fitness center looks to score members in East Dallas

The Dallas Cowboys are almost ready to open their new gym on the Baylor Scott & White campus in East Dallas.

The new gym has been in the works since early last year on Washington Avenue east of downtown.

The new Cowboys Fit is planned in what it previously functioned as the Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center. The renovated 51,000-square-foot fitness center is scheduled to open in early fall.

“We are very excited to add another Cowboys Fit location, this time in East Dallas,” Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President Jerry Jones Jr. said in a statement. “Health and fitness are some of the key pillars of our organization.”

The East Dallas facility will be the fifth outlet for Cowboys-brand training centers. The NFL team opened its first Cowboys Fit training center in 2017 in Frisco as part of the team’s mixed-use development known as The Star.

The newer operation will be equipped with free weights and weight machines, a grassy sports field, areas for indoor cycling and group exercise, an indoor lap pool and a recovery room.

Cowboys Fit also has locations in Plano, downtown Dallas, and nearby Austin.

“We are incredibly excited to continue to see the Cowboys Fit brand grow and succeed,” said Mark Mastrov, who founded 24 Hour Fitness and partnered with the Cowboys in gyms. “We have no doubt that Cowboys Fit East Dallas will be an exceptional addition to the Dallas community and take our business to new heights.”
