Day-long international CME on kidney disease and hemodialysis held in Dhaka

A one-day conference entitled “International CME on Kidney Disease and Hemodialysis” was recently held in Dhaka. The conference was organized by the Bangladesh Kidney Association and promoted by NIPRO-JMI Medical Limited, a Japan-Bangladesh joint venture, says a press release.

Conference speakers discussed how to prevent kidney disease and ensure affordable kidney care. The international conference sessions were — Water Quality in Hemodialysis – Correlation Between High Quality Water and Affordable Care; Dialyzer – Effective selection to improve patient outcomes for affordable care; and Global Knowledge and Recent Trend of Dialysis: Real-World Experience from Singapore, Europe, and Japan.

The conference revealed that only 40 percent of infected kidney disease patients have been receiving dialysis services nationwide. As a result, a large number of patients die without treatment.

To this end, the speakers emphasized ensuring affordable care for kidney patients. In addition, they also suggested raising awareness of kidney disease and starting treatment early in the disease.
