Over the years, we’ve kind of adopted a fear of high-fat foods, but experts suggest it might be more beneficial to keep them on a diet to aid weight loss. But why would replacing these products with low-fat options create adverse effects?

Expert nutritionist Tabitha Roth revealed that switching variations is a very common mistake dieters make.

He went on to say that a person who wants to lose weight should focus on their daily calorie intake.

“Whether you’re following a low-fat or high-fat diet, if you have excess calories, it’s still going to contribute to weight gain,” he said.

“Try to choose a diet rich in plant-based foods (fruits, vegetables, legumes), high-fiber carbohydrates, healthy fats, and lean protein for a balanced diet that supports weight loss.”
