Do you also buy toothpaste just by looking at the flavor? The dentist told- what should be in the paste

Toothpaste: We brush daily to take care of our teeth. For this, everyone uses different types of toothpaste. There are more than one toothpaste available in the market. Many times it happens that we are unable to choose the best toothpaste for ourselves. Many times people use any kind of toothpaste without understanding the need of their teeth and they also have to bear the brunt of it.

Keeping this in mind, we should always take care of some special things while buying toothpaste. An expert told that what people should take special care of while buying toothpaste. According to him, while buying toothpaste, it does not matter which brand it is or what its flavor is. What matters is whether the main ingredient in it is fluoride or not.

Fluoride toothpaste is essential

British dentist and Chief Orthodontist of Impress, Dr. Khaled Kasim often shares tips related to teeth. Talking about toothpaste, he said, ‘You should always use fluoride toothpaste, it is really very important. There are different types of toothpaste, but in general you want to make sure the one you’re using has fluoride.

Dr. Khaled said, ‘It is very important for children that they are given such toothpaste to use, in which the amount of fluoride is less.’ This is because their teeth are more delicate than those of adults. For adults, a high-fluoride toothpaste may also work.

How much fluoride toothpaste is best?

Britain’s National Health Service says that toothpaste that contains 1,350 to 1,500 ppm fluoride is very effective. However, if you are prone to tooth decay then you should take a toothpaste with more fluoride. Children should be given toothpaste with 1,000ppm fluoride. The reason for this is that children’s teeth are very delicate in childhood, in which case excess fluoride can damage their teeth.
