Here doctors expressed the possibility of getting bone cancer
Clarke’s health was continuously deteriorating. The situation had come that she could hardly stand for a minute or two. So much weekness had entered his body. In August 2020, he had to be admitted to the emergency of the hospital. When a CT scan was done, it was revealed that he had a grape-sized tumor in his lungs. Doctors expressed the possibility of stage 3 bone cancer.
Desmoid tumor turned out to be not cancer
Seeing the possibility of cancer, doctors got Clarke’s biopsy done. It was revealed in the biopsy that Clarke did not have cancer. Rather it is a desmoid tumor. This is a kind of rare condition. It has tendril like growth. It affects the surrounding organs and a lot of pain is felt. Sometimes this tumor is very fatal. There is no specific treatment for it. According to the US National Cancer Institute, this type of tumor can be difficult to remove and often grows back even after removal.
Tumor growing even after chemotherapy
Doctors say that the worst aspect of this tumor is that it continues to grow. Clarke did oral chemotherapy for the first three months. Despite this the tumor continued to grow. After that she went through another chemo for five months. This shrunk the tumor by half. In the future, they may have surgery to try to remove most of the tumor. Although the process of removing the tumor is a bit complicated. But it may increase in future.
