Eating the correct foods at the right times can help you lose weight fast

Personal trainer Mich Neilly took to Instagram to share his top three tips for people starting out or struggling to eat less and move more.

1. Hunger

Mich recommends that people prioritize their calories when they are most hungry.

Many myths on the Internet say that you will not lose weight if you eat early in the morning or late at night.

However, there is no perfect time to eat, but Mich says that if there were, it would simply be when you are the hungriest.

It doesn’t matter if it’s 7 am or 10 pm, it’s important to listen to your body and eat whenever you feel hungry so it’s easier to stay in a calorie deficit.

2. Potatoes

Carbohydrates can often be criticized when it comes to fat loss, but they are extremely important for our bodies to stay healthy and function.

But why would potatoes help minimize hunger when we’re in a calorie deficit?

Potatoes they are super versatile and have a very high satiety index, meaning they will keep you full for longer relative to the number of calories they contain.

Eating foods that have a high satiety index will make it easier to stay in a calorie deficit, as you will minimize your hunger by eating foods that will fill you up for longer.

3. Calorie count

Mich recommends that you start as high as possible with your calorie intake.

Starting too low leaves little room for change and will actually make it much harder for your body to adjust to the changes.

If you start in a calorie 1300 calorie intake will end up starving you and leave little room for more.

This will leave no room for improvement and will make it easier for you to break your calorie deficit as it would be too difficult to maintain when the calorie goal is too low.
