Eka Care implements fast-track OPD token generation under ABDM – ET HealthWorld

Bengaluru: A single careone Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM)-approved Personal health records (PHR) has joined hands with App, 11 Government Hospitals Leading fast-track OPD token implementation across India and under ABDM. Integrated healthcare platform is doing pro bono work with government hospitals Karnataka And Delhi To implement QR code-based fast-track OPD token generation.

Eight of these hospitals are in Karnataka including Udupi, Vijayapura, Kolar, Sakleshpur, Chikballapur, Anekal, KC General and CV Raman General Hospitals. Three other hospitals are in Delhi which include AIIMS, Lady Hardinge and Charak Palika Hospital. Now patients no longer need to wait in long queues at these government hospitals to generate OPD slips for doctor’s consultation.

With this plan, the National Health Authority (NHA) is replacing the traditional Patient registration system In the fast-track process. Earlier, patients had to wait in line for around 30 to 60 minutes to get OPD token due to crowding. After implementation of OPD QR code in government hospitals, people can get OPD token instantly.

Deepak Tuli, COO & Co-Founder, Eka Car said, “Our team is doing its utmost to ensure seamless implementation of QR code-based OPD token generation in maximum hospitals. So far, we have implemented this framework in eleven hospitals in India and are on track to generate 1,00,000 plus OPD tokens every month.”

To avail this benefit, patients must first create an ABHA or link their existing ABHA to the Eka Care app. Then they have to open their ABHA and scan the OPD QR code to share their details with the hospitals. Once the details are shared, an OPD token is generated. Anyone can easily follow these steps on Eka Care app and generate OPD tokens in less than 1 minute.

Overhaul of Camhs includes independent regulation and ‘person-centric’ approach

After that, patients proceed to the fast track counter and show their token number to get the consultation receipt. Post-consultation patients can also receive their prescriptions, lab test reports and other medical documents as part of their consultation on the Eka Care PHR app. All information may be shared with doctors or hospitals only with consent of users.
