In a recent media interview, Anurag Kashyap opened up about his battle with depression, revealing that he also went to a rehab center.
Recently, Anurag Kashyap’s Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat had its world premiere at the ongoing Marrakech Film Festival. The 19th edition of the film festival was organized in Morocco from November 11, 2022 to November 19, 2022. Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat will be presented outdoors in the Jemaa El Fna square in Marrakech. In a recent interview with Indian Express, Anurag spoke about his battle with depression.

After shooting for his film Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat was delayed due to the lockdown and his web series Tandav encountered legal trouble, Kashyap said he entered a dark period in his personal life. After that, the director claims, he completely withdrew into himself, which eventually led him to stop using Twitter. Thereafter, Anurag Kashyap had to make three rehabilitation visits. The director’s health also began to deteriorate and he suffered a heart attack. He had an angioplasty last year.

Kashyap also talked about recovery and returning to movies after a short break due to health issues. He said: “Unlike other people, I don’t have the luxury of sitting and waiting.” He added that he doesn’t run massive projects that can sustain him and his team for a long time.

Anurag Kashyap suffered mental damage when his daughter attacked him on Twitter
Kashyap also mentioned how his daughter had been abused on Twitter (Everything you need to know about Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover). She claimed that after speaking out against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in 2019, her daughter began receiving rape threats.
He said he deleted his Twitter account after experiencing severe emotional trauma that led to a heart attack the previous year. He further revealed that as a result of those threats, his daughter Aliyah Kashyap has anxiety problems.

The last time he directed the film Do Baaraa he had Taapsee Pannu as the lead. He will also be releasing a new romantic movie known as Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat, starring alaya f. and Karan Mehta as the film’s leads. It will be released next year in 2023.
