There’s a new training in town, and this one has been designed especially for players. Network operator EE has partnered with fitness expert and influencer Obi Vincent and eSports organization EXCEL to create the world’s first Gaming Intensity Fitness Training (GIFT) workout. The workout includes exercises to strengthen your fingers and wrists, while reducing tension in your neck and shoulders and increasing energy. You can see the full workout displayed on obi vincent and Twitch streamer Sunpi below.
EE explains further: “The new EE Full Fiber GIFT training has been designed to help gaming fans reach their full potential, as new research from EE reveals Britons spend an average of 7 hours each week gaming, with nearly two-thirds (63%) experiencing fatigue during their gaming sessions.
“The average time players continued to play without a break was three hours.
“Despite this, Brits rank fitness last for gaming performance essentials, behind gaming gear, a reliable broadband connection and screen size.
“However, 39% of Britons agree that ‘every second counts in gaming’, with over a quarter (26%) looking to increase their gaming stamina and four in ten wanting to improve their skills to make decisions or make quicker decisions during your gaming sessions”.
While it’s obviously a bit of a publicity stunt to promote EE’s full fiber broadband speed to gamers, the training itself is very helpful.
The GIFT workout is designed for all fitness levels and takes around 20 minutes to complete. It focuses on ten areas of the body, in particular the parts of the body most used by players.
Plus, you don’t need fancy gym equipment or an expensive club membership.
Having played over 100 hours of Elden Ring in the past few months, any opportunity to ease the strain on my neck and shoulders is welcome. You can see the full list of moves below, plus how to complete each exercise in the video above.
