New Delhi: Google has announced a collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to accelerate the deployment and adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the state. This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will drive the development and implementation of AI solutions, focusing on key sectors such as healthcare and sustainability, while prioritizing digital infrastructure improvements. AI skills developmentand support for the local startup ecosystem.
The MoU exchange took place in Amaravati, in the presence of Nara Lokesh, Minister of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications and Human Resource Development, Andhra Pradesh; between Bikram Singh Bedi, Vice President and Country Managing Director, Google Cloud India, and S Suresh Kumar, Secretary, Real Time Governance Society, Andhra Pradesh.
Under this MoU, Google will collaborate with the Andhra Pradesh government to integrate AI and machine learning solutions in critical areas such as healthcare and environmental sustainability. The collaboration will also focus on promoting skills development and closing the digital divide by providing citizens with the training and resources necessary to thrive in an AI-driven economy. In addition, Google will collaborate to support the state’s startup ecosystem, to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of AI.

Skills development and education: Google Cloud will also collaborate with the government to provide skills programs for government agencies, including Google Cloud certifications and skills badges in areas such as cybersecurity, data analytics, and generative artificial intelligence. Additionally, Google will offer resources and support to educators to meet the growing demand for computer science education. Training initiatives will also include access to Google developer community programs and Android and app skills development training.
Enabling the startup ecosystem: Google will work with the Andhra Pradesh startup ecosystem to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, providing mentorship and networking opportunities and access to Google for Startups Accelerator programs. Additionally, eligible AI startups will receive cloud credits, technical training, and business support.
Sustainability: Apply AI to help address challenges related to air quality, urban planning and disaster management.
Healthcare: catalyst for adoption AI in healthcare to improve access to quality care and improve patient outcomes. This includes providing access to health AI image models through partners, exploring applications of generative AI in healthcare through large language models (LLM), and supporting research initiatives through the Health AI Developer Foundations ( HAI-DEF).
AI Pilots: Google will collaborate on pilot projects in key sectors on the benefits of cloud technology and AI in areas such as agriculture, traffic management, website modernization and citizen grievance redressal, among others. others.
