How to perform Chakrasana

* Lie on your back with your feet hip-width apart.

* Bend your knees with your feet flat on the floor close to your body.

* Bring your palms under your shoulders so that your fingers point toward your shoulders and your elbows are shoulder-width apart.

* Inhale and press your palms into the ground. Lift your shoulders, elbow and hips. Your feet should be pressed against the ground.

* Raise your body and twist your spine to resemble a semicircular bow.

* Stretch your arms and legs as much as possible. Hold the position for a few seconds before returning to the starting position.

“I am slowly working to restore my fitness by following my proven formula of balancing strength, endurance and flexibility. Over the course of the week, I do 2-3 days of strength (mix of traditional, plyometrics, and HIIT), three days of running, and one day of yoga. Some days I end up straining and endurance. Other days I end up doing strength and flexibility. And other days I end up doing resistance and flexibility. Some days I just hang on. Either strength or flexibility,” she added.
