Hamilton discusses mental health issues after Q-School: “The pressure cauldron forces some deep thoughts”

Andy Hamilton floundered in his quest to return to the PDC ProTour last week during Q-School and revealed that he has been having some trouble lately.

Hamilton said he is in a “dark place” at the moment and the Challenge Tour may come too soon for him, but he will play again as soon as he feels he can.

”A really tough week in Milton Keynes. I would like to apologize to all my family, friends, fans and sponsors. I really don’t know what happened, but some things are totally off the mark. The pressure cauldron forces some deep thoughts and feelings to arise. Mentally in a dark place right now.”

”I have taken the first steps to address the recurring problem. The Challenge Tour may come too soon, but as they say, the best thing to do when you fall off the horse is to get back on. With the right support, I will play as soon as I feel ready. Mental health will not win.”
